3. Information we collect
When you send an enquiry, you may provide:
- your name, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, and country;
- the safari or travel service that interests you;
- preferred dates and number of travellers;
- your message and any other information you choose to include.
Please do not include unnecessary sensitive information in the free-text message. If information about health, accessibility, or dietary needs is necessary to plan your trip, provide only what is relevant to your request.
We do not create a separate customer database from website enquiries. Enquiries and our replies may be retained in the company email account. Our hosting and email provider may also process technical logs needed to provide, secure, and maintain its services.
4. Why and how we use your information
We use the information you submit only to:
- contact you and respond to your enquiry;
- understand your travel requirements and prepare a safari proposal;
- continue correspondence that you request;
- meet applicable legal, security, and record-keeping obligations;
- produce internal service statistics using aggregated or anonymised information wherever reasonably possible.
We do not use enquiry contact details for unrelated advertising or direct marketing, and we do not sell personal information. The processing is based on your request and, where required, your consent or our applicable legal obligations.
5. Sharing, processors, and international transfers
We limit access to people who need the information to answer or manage your enquiry. We may disclose information where required by law, a court, or a competent authority.
OVHcloud provides our website hosting and MX Plan email services and acts as a service provider that may process enquiry emails and related technical data on our behalf. OVHcloud may use international infrastructure and sub-processors. Information may therefore be processed or accessed outside Tanzania, even when a selected hosting server is located in a particular region.
The website currently loads its typefaces through Google Fonts. When your browser requests those font files, Google may receive technical request information such as your IP address, browser details, and the date and time of the request. Google Fonts is not used by us to analyse enquiries or build advertising profiles.
Where an international transfer occurs, we will seek to use the contractual, organisational, and regulatory safeguards required by applicable Tanzanian law. Current processing locations and safeguards should be confirmed against the active OVHcloud service plan and data-processing terms.
6. Retention and security
Enquiry emails and related correspondence are normally retained for up to 24 months from the latest relevant communication. We may keep information longer where reasonably necessary for an active booking, a legal obligation, or the establishment, exercise, or defence of a legal claim. At the end of the applicable period, information is deleted or anonymised where reasonably practicable.
We use reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss, or disclosure. No internet or email transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- confirm whether we process your personal information and provide access to it;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- delete information that no longer needs to be retained;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Contact, complaints, and updates
To exercise a privacy right or ask a question, email info@escapetowildlifesafaris.com. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may contact or lodge a complaint with the Tanzania Personal Data Protection Commission.
We may update this policy when our services, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page shows the latest published version.
